If you have been diagnosed with high cholesterol, it is important to derive more information from the blood panel to better understand what is really at issue. For example, high total cholesterol has, as such, little connection to heart disease. A VAP test will determine if the cholesterol fraction profile represents a risk. Very high total cholesterol and/or very high LDL, may, in fact, indicate thyroid issues as hypothyroidism makes the liver react slowly when eliminating excessive amounts of cholesterol.
